Problems with Napster? Control4 are on the Case

Control4 have been receiving reports that Napster (previously known as Rhapsody) users have had issues in playing music through the Control4 systems. This is due to Napster starting a transition from the previous RAD file format to AAC. As they have to process their entire library of music, this is a very gradual process.

This new AAC format is not supported currently by Control4, so if you are having playback troubles including missing or unplayable songs, or long pauses between tracks in a playlist, this is the reason.

We wanted to let you know that Control4 are aware of the incompatibility of these systems, and are super focused on fixing the issue promptly and comprehensively. You may be notified of the problem through your Napster account, but we’d like you to know that MDfx are fully aware of the current issues.

Control4 will be notifying us when the issue has been resolved, and we will let you know as soon as they have come up with a solution. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to contact us on 01895 262600.
