"We like design to be visually powerful, intellectually elegant, and above all - Timeless."

A home with a timeless design has a strong sense of place which is reflected in its geometry, material usage, historical context, and connection to its surrounding landscape. Meaning, the home seems to belong right where it is and you can’t imagine it anywhere else. It’s thoughtful, intentional, and functionally works now and into the future. Over time, its materials transform and weather, becoming part of the character of the home. It has a sense of permanence and honesty that makes it feel authentic – deepening our appreciation and connection to it time and time again.

Now you have to add another layer. Home technology. How can home technology be timeless when it’s evolving so rapidly? Some even argue that a smaller and better version of a piece of tech is released every year or so. We’re not worried about this – Why you ask? Well because an automated home is not about a singular gadget…it’s about how all the gadgets integrate together to create one system where everything will be connected to sensors and able to talk to one another.

Let me explain something, having multiple different apps to control things is no different then before when you had a dozen different remote controls. Thus, you’re still confused and the system still does not work together. Wasn’t that the problem to begin with? Automation systems are designed to let all of the sub systems, like the lighting, thermostats and window shades, to work together in unison with one simple to use app or control system.

Without some type of planning or structure, a home automation system simply will not work well. Too many of the current smart home products on the market do not communicate with one another and can quickly cause technology chaos. The best way to approach a smart home system is to ask yourself what you really care about controlling and why. Then plan your system with devices that are proven to work well together, keeping in mind any devices that you may consider adding later on.

We combine this system with a masterplan of the best way to hide all the wires and cabling, use beautifully finished lighting control keypads or a completely hidden in-wall surround sound system, to mention a few of the options. We, like architects have a similar goal : To deliver a powerful system, that is visually elegant, and above all – Timeless.
